As queens typically do in their power, Beyoncé releases an unexpected powerhouse single titled, "Black Parade" within the final hours of June 19th, 2020.
The deliberate scheduling of this release follows the historical roots of Juneteenth, which marks the day of freedom for the enslavement of black people.
"Black Parade" melodically illustrates a calling for liberation and activism to combat racial inequality while incorporating reflections of black history, black culture and the history of police brutality in addition to this years protests across the world.
The R&B trap song encapsulates the electric representation of the strength, power and beauty in black culture while demonstrating the importance of paying tribute to the past under a four minute and forty-one second track.
